Meet Assata Mayo, The Master Behind RichLocs.
Assata Mayo turned a childhood passion for hair into one of Atlanta’s most trusted loc destinations.
Her journey started at 15 years old when her aunt taught her how to braid. While attending Southern University, Assata began doing more locs than braids and decided to turn her passion into a career. In 2014, she launched her first business, Irie Minds, in Jeanerette, Louisiana, where she became known as Thee Loctician.
In 2015, she relocated to Atlanta to create more opportunity for herself and her son. Since then, she has built a clientele of more than 700 clients and opened Rich Locs The Shop in the historic West End.
